ROLLING ADMISSIONS: Now through July 31, 2012
The program in Political Science and International Affairs is now accepting applications to the Master’s degree program in Political Science and International Affairs at the American University of Armenia. The American University of Armenia is affiliated with the University of California. The program and the university are U. S. accredited. All courses are taught in English. This is a two year program that offers course work in International Relations, Comparative Politics, Public Administration, Public Policy and European Studies. Being based in Armenia, we offer coursework and conduct research pertaining to various issues relevant to the former Soviet territory, while using American and European scholarly lenses for analysis. The Mission of the School of Political Science and International Affairs (PSIA) is to graduate students with advanced analytical reasoning, critical thinking and problem solving skills. This is done through the study of international relations, comparative and domestic political and economic institutions, processes and policies. Application procedures and forms are found at http://www.aua.am/admissions/index.html. Applicants must submit a statement of purpose, English language proficiency scores, GRE quantitative scores, undergraduate diploma from an accredited university or college, transcripts, and three letters of recommendation. If applicants have completed their undergraduate program in a university where the language of instruction is English then they do not have to have an iBT score submitted. This is a well-respected program that is significantly less expensive than comparable studies in the U.S. or in Europe. Students may be selected for research opportunities through faculty and their individual research projects. The associated research arm of the PSIA program is the Turpanjian Center for Policy Analysis that also provides students with opportunities in applied policy analytic research projects. There is also a possibility for a semester-long exchange on a non-degree basis (http://www.aua.am/academics/none.html), which helps to earn credits that can be transferred to another university. For further information beyond the above listed web site, you may find program specific information at http://psia.aua.am.
